How to recover memory card data, which has been lost?

Most of the electronic devices like mobile phones, audio and video players, digital cameras, camcorders, game consoles and PDA’s make use of different types of memory cards to store large amount of data. Memory cards are external memory storage devices. External memory storage devices are also called as physical memory storage devices or auxillary memory storage devices. Memory cards use flash memory, which is a non-volatile memory i.e. it can retain information untill you erase it intentionally. Memory card data can be read in computers through external card readers, PCMCIA adapters or proprietary slots. Memory card’s performance can be evaluated based on the flash memory i.e. NAND or NOR. Generally, you can use NOR-based flash memory cards in the applications, which require very high-read performance else NAND-based flash memory cards can be used. Memory cards do not have fragile moving parts like hard drives, hence they are less prone to mechanical failures. But, sometimes due to logical failures you may lose the data. Now, the common question is how to recover memory card data? . Answer is very simple, just you need to use relevant memory card recovery software.

Virus attacks, file system damage, file system conversion errors, accidental format, improperly formatting the card etc are the most common reasons for data loss in memory cards. Sometimes, due to these problems, you may encounter error messages like “Card error”, “Card not initialised”, “No card” etc. When these error messages occur, then you cannot access the data stored on memory card resulting in data loss. Sometimes, you may accidentally delete the data resulting in data loss. When you delete the data from the memory card that is connected to computer, the data which has been deleted does not move to the Recycle Bin. Instead, it bypasses the Recycle Bin resulting in data loss.

In order to avoid data loss from the memory card, always take backup of essential data. Always, recheck while deleting data from memory card. Because, if it bypasses the Recycle Bin then you cannot restore accidentally deleted data back from the Recycle Bin. If you have accidentally deleted the data and want to recover that data then do not use the memory card from where you have deleted. Because, when you delete, the allocation space of deleted data is marked as available for storing new data. If you save new data over that space then new data overwrites old data resulting in permanent data loss.

Remo Recover (Windows) Media Edition helps you to recover accidentally deleted or lost ata from different types of memory cards like SD cards, CF cards, XD cards, MMC etc. This software can recognise and recover different types of files based on their unique signature. If the files that you want to recover are not listed then you can add new signatures for those files. This software recovers data from the memory cards that are manufactured by different manufacturers like Transcend, SanDisk, and Lexar etc. This software can also recover lost data from accidentally formatted or re-formatted memory cards.
